The sacred flame is not unlike the ' tuft of hair' on the lion's tail ( alchemy the green lion eating the sun ) ./The constellation was seperated from Leo and is now known as Coma Berenice. Buddha who cut off his hair in not unlike the Berenice story and as the Lion is both an epithet of both Buddha and Christ then maybe we have something interesting here as Veronica's veil.
